  • Too long.  Oi, too too long.

Krystal, Rachel, and Mary Ann have been here for the past few days.  Oh how I wish they could be here all the time.

Today we visited Scranton, Pa.  We went to Poor Richard's Pub and the Steamtown Mall.  Although all of the filming for The Office takes place in Hollywood, it was cool to be in the area of inspiration.  And Scranton is a nice city.  The outskirts are run down, but the core part is fantastic.  I could get into day trips up there.

The coffee world is grand.  I'm still a'brewin.

Adam is gone tonight and tomorrow for a wedding.  I do not like him being gone.

We spent most of Christmas week in Virginia with the Grosses.  It was awesome. Too awesome for words.

Djembes are cool. I have one these days.  It's orange and red.

Please can someone buy me a house.

  • Do you ever feel like going to bed, but know that you have to shower, brush your teeth, change your clothes, pick up your mess, etc?  And then you don't even want to go to bed anymore so you just end up staying up because of the overwhelming mess of things you have to do just to get in bed?

I'll probably be up for another hour.

Work is kinda lame.  I like it and all....actually I don't like it at all.  It's becoming one of "those" jobs.  I want to teach music.  Help!

We have a lot of changes about to happen in our lives.  We need some directional prayer.  God be glorified.

Obama is our president.  Not my first choice, but ya know, I'm not gonna complain.  It is what it is, and maybe he'll end up doing a good job.  I don't agree with many things he agrees on, which is why I didn't want him in office in the first place.  But I'm not gonna be bitter and blame him in four years for things he may get us into (leave Bush alone).  And something else I'm gonna start doing is praying for him more.  I didn't pray for past presidents like I should have, so I'll help Obama out and lift him up more.  I mean, he is a sinner like the rest of the world too.  Love God love people.

Maybe I'll go to bed now.  I'm just postponing my sleep time, and I have to work in the morning.  Hooray for coffee.

Ugh, speaking of that crap.  Did everyone else besides me know that Starbucks was giving out free coffee to those who voted on election day?  Didn't even know until I got to work Tuesday.  Awesome.

It's a lot warmer up here than it should be. Bring on the cold!

I finally put a buttload of pictures up on facebook. They are fun.

Well, I guess I'll go to bed.

  • Laura's recent adventures...I saw history, read more...

...So last Wednesday night the Philadelphia Phillies won the World Series.  Adam and Ryan (the bro) have always been huge Philly fans.  Any team from Philly, they are loyal too.  Naturally, since I married a Philly fan, I kept up with the Phillies and their progress in baseball this season.  I started to really like them mid-summer, and I know a lot about them for being a rookie fan (this is to protect myself from being called a "front-runner", because I'm not).

So Ryan came to our place last week so we could go watch the Phillies become World Champions.  Monday we headed up to Philly, hoping to experience history.  Much to our dismay, the game was called in the top of the 6th due to extremely poor weather conditions.  The score was 2-2.  Tie game.

Being a huge fan and driving a long distance for this moment, Ryan decided to stick around until Wednesday to hopefully give this experience a second chance.  Come Wednesday, the three of us headed to Philly again.  We did not see the actual game, however, we stood outside of the stadium and watched the scoreboard and listened to the fans cheer. Soon enough, the Phillies brought home the World Championship, and the celebration began.  We ran to the front of the ball park, and what do we see?  An opened gate.  And what do we do?  Run freakin in.  Yes my friends, we celebrated the World Series victory inside the Phillies ball park.  We went down on the center field seating and watched all of the interviews and the trophy being presented and all of that good stuff.  We saw history, and it was once in a lifetime.  I have pictures.  Check the facebook for them soon.

It was awesome and fun and we will tell our grandkids about it.  I love baseball.  Always have.  And I got to see the freakin World Series on a personal level. Wow.

    What a great time.

And then Adam and I packed up and went to Florida the next day with his mom and grandmother.  His grandmother goes down every winter season, so we went along with her for a few days.

Florida is great.  The weather was awesome, and we stayed in North Fort Meyers.  I saw all kinds of palms trees, and I even got a coconut straight from the tree.  We had a great time, and it was real nice to get away for a little bit.  It was over too soon.

And then, I had my first plane ride. Yes, my very first one.  It was frightening and fun and frightening.  I would do it again, but not tomorrow.

What a fun week in my life.

  • So I decided to be a poser and copy Chris's entry about disc golf.  If you don't know what it is, go read his xanga.  Adam and I live like five minutes away from a disc golf course, and we try to go when we have some extra time. Now this course is all through the woods, so we often throw our discs into the wilderness and it takes us many minutes to recover them.  However, the course is beautiful.  The terrain up here is pretty rocky, so all throughout the wooded course their are big rocks and stuff.  And this time of year the leaves are beautiful, so today I felt like I played disc golf and worshiped a little.  Creation is so beautiful.  And disc golf is so very fun.

So the Phillies are ahead in the World Series 2-1.  We are currently watching the game and pretty soon they will be up 3-1.  Then hopefully they will win while they are in Philly, and Adam and I are gonna go up there for the victory celebration.  Philly's only like an hour away from us, so this is kind of a big deal around here.  Plus Adam has been a Phillies fan since infancy, and he kinda drug me into it.

    I love hot chocolate.

I've really been getting into tea lately.  I think I will start drinking loose tea.  Adam and I went to this tea store in the mall called Teavana.  I'm hooked I'm afraid.

We're heading the Florida Thursday-Sunday.  Adam's Grandma goes down there every winter season, so Adam, his/my mom, and I are driving her down there and flying back.  It will be my first time on an airplane.  I am nervous.  Very nervous.

    God is faithful.

  • I should probably add...

...in reference to my latter entry (I always try to find an excuse to use "latter")

There are so many loopholes to wanting to support someone who holds the same values I hold.  For instance, I know a lot of Christians who are anti-abortion and crap, but are very arrogant and pharisaic in their faith.   I think what I'm trying to say is some might not support certain issues (sins) that are facing this country,  however, many other issues (sins) are overlooked because they aren't as important to the world.

So what now?  I want to follow Chris's advice and be Christ to the world.

I'm leaving politics out of it too. Cause there are no politics in eternity.

People are people.  We are all people.  And to me, that's a little comforting.
